While attending school in Southern California, Orloff managed Cartier Jewelers in Costa Mesa, CA and was later employed by Neiman Marcus Fine Jewelry in Beverly Hills. In 1979, he earned his Graduate Gemologist designation from the Gemological Institute of America and returned to Fresno, CA joining his father at Prince Orloff Crown Jewels (located in the same location in Fig Garden Village since 1983). In 1980, James was instrumental in introducing Les Must de Cartier, Gucci handbags and accessories, Alexis Kirk high fashion jewelry and accessories along with Audemars Pique, Vacheron et Constantin, Breitling, and many other prestigious lines to the Fresno market.
At a very young age, James Orloff worked for his father Paul at Prince Orloff Crown Jewels taking apart watches and polishing jewelry. Soon, he was grading diamonds and by 15 years of age, he passed the Gemological Institute of America’s diamond grading test.
By 1985, Orloff was a senior member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers and in 2005 was recognized as a Certified Gemologist by the American Gem Society. He is a Graduate Gemologist with the Gemological Institute of America, a Certified Gemologist by the American Gem Society, a senior member of the National Gemstone and Jewelry Association and the current President of The California Jewelers Association. James is currently writing articles about jewelry and related subjects for the new consumer all about jewelry website: www.thecaratdiet.com. This past year (2011), Orloff Jewelers was voted Best Jewelry Store in America with 22 other independent jewelry stores.

Carole Dixon’s international career in film, television and publishing has led her around the world and her exotic escapades have all been documented in hundreds of global magazine, newspaper and web articles. Current and past credits include Wallpaper Magazine and their popular ‘City Guide’ Books; Departures, Town & Country, Jetsetter, Elite Traveler, Rob Report, Angeleno, Malibu, Zagat and USA Today, among others, reviewing luxury 5-star resorts, Michelin-stared restaurants, wine country regions, spas, shops, interior design, art, jewelry and architecture.
Dixon was recently an Editor and photographer for The Feast LA - an NBC lifestyle, food, wine, travel, shopping and nightlife on-line site that merged with Daily Candy.com in early 2012. During a five year stint living across the pond in London, Carole was a television producer for Rupert Murdoch’s SKY Television and Bloomberg TV developing lifestyle programs such as, Food For Thought, hosted by AA Gill of the Sunday Times. Past positions include the Director of Daytime Programming for the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival; an event coordinator for The American Film Institute Life Achievement Awards with Steven Spielberg and Jack Nicholson; a development associate at Sony Pictures and Merv Griffin Productions.
